This solar photovoltaic installation was completed in the summer of 2009, for the St Crispin School in Somerset.
The 4.32kWp grid connected photovoltaic system was installed by Apollo energy over a shallow pitched zinc standing seam roof on a school classroom block. Lengths of UniStrut channel were installed onto the roof with a UniRac mounting system fixed onto this channel.
The company also installed a visual display situated in the main hallway of the school building so that the students can keep an eye on how the system is performing. A data logger package, which is connected to the school’s computer system, was also installed to allow detailed monitoring of the system; this also included weather sensors such as wind speed, solar irradiance, ambient and module temperature.
