British solar thermal and solar PVT developer Naked Energy has partnered with Japan-based Rinnai to future-proof the heating needs of British buildings.

JBM Solar has received the green light to develop a 49.9MW solar farm, co-located with battery storage, at Hinckley and Bosworth.

EDF Renewables has confirmed it has launched the first phase of community consultation for a renewable project near Neath Port Talbot with an anticipated capacity of 100MW.

“Current energy support systems are centred around power generation. If you are a power generation company on these support mechanisms, why would you think about doing energy storage?” said Mark Sommerfield, director of policy at REA.

“It is going to become socially unacceptable for businesses to not to have solar on their roofs in the short to medium-term,” said Shaun Beattie, sales director of BeBa Energy, at the UK Solar Summit.
