BayWa r.e. has clinched a deal to take over the O&M services for six solar farms owned by clean utility Good Energy.
The agreement, which follows a competitive tender process for the business, will see BayWa r.e’s services arm take over general operation and maintenance tasks for the 30MW portfolio spread across South and South West England.
The particular sites the German-headquartered outfit is to take responsibility for include;
- Carloggas, Cornwall – 8.30MW
- Woolbridge, Dorset – 4.99MW
- Creathorne, Cornwall – 1.84MW
- Rookwood, Wiltshire – 4.98MW
- Cross Road, Dorest – 4.99MW
- Lower End, Wiltshire – 4.99MW
Tess Sundelin, managing director at BayWa r.e. Operation Services, paid testament to Good Energy’s standing as “one of the true pioneers” of the UK’s renewables space.
“The UK O&M sector is evolving rapidly as the market looks for providers who can deliver performance and professionalism for the long term.
“Our proactive technology-driven approach, responsible and safe site management, and ability to leverage the global resources and financial strength of the BayWa Group, are all part of what helps us deliver value for Good Energy and our other clients,” she added.
In June BayWa r.e. confirmed it had opened a new office in Milton Keynes to house its services division having expanded since the acquisition of Green Hedge’s O&M arm earlier in the year.
