BayWa r.e. has changed up the leadership of its UK-facing O&M division following the departure of Tess Sundelin, Solar Power Portal can reveal.
Sundelin was named joint managing director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services when the firm acquired Green Hedge’s O&M division at the start of this year.
But having successfully overseen the integration of the two entities Sundelin has now moved on, with BayWa r.e. appointing industry stalwart Ian Draisey as her replacement. He will serve as co-managing director alongside Oliver Niedhöfer.
Draisey joins the O&M team having previously headed up BayWa r.e’s distribution business which was shuttered earlier this year.
In a statement issued to SPP, BayWa r.e. said Draisey had a “huge amount” of experience in the solar industry and would bring “many complementary skills” to the table.
BayWa r.e’s ambitions for the UK O&M market are long-stated and this year’s acquisition of Green Hedge formed part of a major play for O&M capacity, including the establishment of a new office in Milton Keynes.
In August it won a management contract for 30MW of operational solar from Good Energy for farms across South and South West England.
