European PV manufacturer BISOL has launched a new 285W solar PV module to help meet the demand of UK customers who want more power but have limited roof space.
The company says the new product is a direct response to the UK’s increasing demand for small commercial and residential PV installs. The structure of the UK feed-in tariff scheme means that there is high demand for 4kWp-sized arrays. The company’s new modules allow installers to hit the 4kWp threshold with 14 modules, using less roofspace than the commonly found 250W modules.
However, the company is also offering the new modules in power outputs of 280W and 290W to help give installers flexible options when it comes to system design. BISOL claims that the modules boast efficiencies of 17.7%.
In order to better appeal to the residential and commercial market, BISOL claims to have paid special attention to the aesthetic appearance of the module, which uses an all-black design with transparent back sheet.
The European manufacturer's modules all come with a 25-year linear performance warranty that guarantees the modules will not degrade by more than 0.5% a year and still produce 85% power output by the end of the 25th year.
BISOL says that its PeakPerformance modules will be available through the company's various UK distribution partners.
