Adding to the list of UK footballs clubs to gather solar support, Bolton Wanderers have signed a one-year partnership with Hanwha Group. The agreement will grant Hanwha billboard and video advertising space during home games at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium.
“The addition of Hanwha Group to our growing partnership portfolio is an exciting new development,” said Bolton Chairman Phil Gartside. “We look forward to developing a mutually beneficial long term relationship with Hanwha, whose strong environmental credentials and philosophy is closely matched with our own.”
“Hanwha Group is proud to support the Bolton Wanderers, one of the most respected Premier League football clubs,” Hanwha’s Chief Strategy Officer, SungSoo Lee, added. “Most of all, full attention of Bolton on sustainable world is accordant with the Hanwha Group credentials on social responsibility addressing climate change, energy disparity and energy security and scarcity on a global scale. We see this partnership as a way to underscore our dedication to energy and to the UK, both on and off the football field.”
Several German clubs, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, have signed sponsorship deals with solar companies. Bayern’s partner, Yingli Green, has also agreed to sponsor the Fifa 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
