Caplor Energy has recently completed a 48kWp solar installation for a Brecon-based Garden Centre. The system, which forms part of the Old Railway Line Garden Centre’s redevelopment programme, will help reduce carbon emissions while increasing annual income.
The centre now features 210 solar photovoltaic panels across three roofs, providing almost 40,000kWh of electricity each year and saving over 20 tonnes of CO2.
Mark Cleary, Company Director at the Old Railway Line Nursery, says: “The redevelopment of the Nursery has been designed with sustainability in mind from the outset and so it makes perfect sense for us to now incorporate solar panels on the roof. We expect these solar panels to provide the majority of our electricity needs over the course of each year.”

Most complexes have large roof spaces ideal for solar energy technologies and will almost always use all the electricity generated onsite thus maximising the energy and carbon savings.”
