Calor Gas’s investment in the green energy sector has recently helped the company achieve certification from the Carbon Trust as well as endorsement from the Energy Savings Trust. Calor’s green commitment has been further enhanced by the announcement of a partnership with Midlands-based energy efficiency company, Mark Group.
The partnership will see Calor pass on referrals for home insulation from its customers to Mark Group. Calor and Mark Group are also set to launch options for customers looking to install renewable technology, specifically solar PV and thermal, by trialling a scheme from Calor’s Rural Energy Centre in Exeter.
Bill Rumble, Commercial Director of Mark Group, added: “Calor’s move to establish itself as a full Energy Services Company and to be recognised by such prestigious organisations as the Energy Saving Trust and the Carbon Trust makes it the perfect match for our business.
“Renewable energy technologies have particular relevance for rural communities and coupled with the correct home insulation, provide a ‘whole house’ energy saving solution. We are looking forward to developing future ideas and prospects with Calor, building on our four decades of experience in the industry.”
Calor has embraced the energy efficiency market after all its sales and customer service staff undertook energy efficiency advise training from the Energy Savings Trust. Calor was also recognised by the Carbon Trust Standard for its continued achievements in cutting carbon.
Calor hopes that by providing a new range of renewable energy products and services, its customers will be able to benefit from Government incentive schemes such as the feed-in tariff, Renewable Heat Incentive and, from autumn 2012, the Green Deal programme.
