Camborne Capital and sPower have agreed a deal with PV developer, Hive Energy to acquire a 6.5MW project in Pembrokeshire.
The solar farm site at Golden Hill Farm in Myllets Hill won planning permission in September and construction is expected to begin in November with an EPC yet to be appointed.
Declan Mackle, CEO of Camborne explained the motivation behind the deal, he said: “We are in full acquisition and delivery mode at the moment to reach our target of 100MW of projects under the 1.4ROC scheme.
“The acquisition of the Golden Hill project brings us a step closer to achieving this. It has been a very busy couple of months for Camborne and our joint venture partner, sPower. Our ability to close deals quickly gives an advantage over others, allowing sufficient time for projects to be built out and accredited under the 1.4ROC scheme. Time can’t be wasted in the current climate.”
Ryan Creamer, sPower’s CEO added that the companies are targeting projects that are “not only environmentally and economically responsible, but which also move our industry and our company forward”.
Giles Redpath, CEO of Hive Energy commented that Camborne and sPower would be “excellent owners and operators of the site”. Redpath particularly welcomed the companies’ environmental management approach.
