E.On has unveiled a range of interest-free financing options for domestic solar and storage in the UK, helping consumers spread installation costs.
The utility said homeowners would now have “more financing options than ever before”, helping them spread the cost of a new installation over one, two or three years without accruing interest.
E.On has been offering UK customers home solar and battery storage systems for more than two years, and in November 2017 launched a 12-month interest-free financing package, but has now moved to extend on that offering.
Jon Kirby, head of solar and storage at E.On, said that the company was committed to ensuring its customers had access to various, affordable options to “help them become part of the energy solution”.
“We know that the upfront costs of certain sustainable technologies can be a real barrier for some people. And that’s where these new options can help – by making solar and battery technologies as affordable as possible, giving homeowners more options to take control over their home’s energy than ever before.”
The launch of new financing options comes amidst a lull in policy support for domestic solar installations with no government-backed export tariff in place, however E.On has committed to maintain the export tariff for new installations under a Solar Rewards programme.
