Eaton’s new ISG range of inverters have been specifically designed for solar photovoltaic systems and, following certification as fully compliant with ENA Engineering Recommendation G83/1, are suitable for connection to the UK national grid. Eaton hopes that the new inverters’ high reliability, maintenance-free operation, compact construction and sleek modern appearance will place them ideally for domestic and commercial applications.
ISG single-phase inverters are suitable for use with monocrystalline and polycrystalline PV arrays up to 40 m2. Versions for indoor use, which offer IP43 ingress protection, are available with ratings from 1.5 kW to 4.0 kW, and the range also includes a 4.0 kW model with IP65 ingress protection for outdoor use. To ensure best use is made of the energy supplied by the PV panels under all conditions, ISG inverters incorporate Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology, which allows all models to maximise the energy yield from the array.
All models in the range feature a fanless design that ensures minimal operation noise and helps guard against the build up of dirt that occurs when cooling fans are used. The inverters also boast built-in liquid crystal displays that provide detailed real-time status information, and an RS-232 serial data port that facilitates communication with external devices.
