Lincolnshire-based renewable energy distributor Eco Building Products has announced its sponsorship of the New College Stamford football team.
The kit sponsorship deal is part of the development of new sports teams at the college including football, rugby and triathlon. Eco Building Products is assisting with funds for the supply of team kit for the new football squad.
EcoBuilding’s sponsorship deal follows the development of a new renewable energy BTEC National Diploma Extended course at New College. Operations Director Ian Greenfield said: “We are delighted to be able to assist the college with the purchase of kit for its new football team. It is part of our ongoing community engagement.
“This sponsorship builds on our contribution to the college’s BTEC National Diploma course. Getting involved with educating the next generation of electrical engineers is important”.
Gary McPartland, Director of Learning, Construction, Motor Vehicle, Sport and Public Services at New College Stamford, added: “We would like to thank Ian and Eco Building Products for their continued support.
“Setting up a football academy for the 16 to 19 year-old age group is a complex proposition in terms of funding so any help from supporters of the college like Eco Building Products is very welcome.”
New College’s first game in the kit was a success, beating Stephenson College, Coalville 4-2 in their opening match in the British College Sports East Midlands League.
“It looks like New College Stamford is going to be very successful. Aligning ourselves with a successful organisation like this is an appropriate way to mirror our own success and put something back into the community”, concluded Ian Greenfield.
