Midlands-based solar distributor, EH Smith, has announced two new partnerships that it hopes will strengthen its current product offering.
The first partnership will see EH Smith begin working with one of the UK’s leading heat technology specialists, Vaillant. The move will see EH Smith become the only UK stockist to hold Valliant’s Solar Thermal and other renewable heat products.
John Cave, Sustainability Director for EH Smith, commented: “We are delighted to be the first UK stockist of Vaillant Solar Thermal components. Vaillanthas been setting the standards for the heating industry for over 135 years and their Renewable Heat range reflects this pedigree.
“This new partnership is great for installers as it will give them greater control and flexibility, as well as instant access to supplies. We have been at the forefront of renewable energy technologies since 2008 and see Vaillant as the perfect partner for our solar thermal offering. With the RHI round the corner we are expecting this part of the sector to develop very quickly over the next few years. Vaillant are a well-respected brand within the heating sector and EH Smith are a well-respected company in distribution – it's an ideal match.”
The second partnership will see SPAX UK Ltd become EH Smith’s preferred Mounting System Roof Hook fixing. The SPAX 6.0mm washer head screws are fashioned from solid A2 stainless steel in Germany and are designed specifically for the UK solar market.
On the company’s partnership with SPAX, Cave stated: “The importance of the final fixing can’t be overlooked, but it is crucial to have a fixing that is up to the job. SPAX are market leaders in this area and use A2 grade Stainless Steel which is much more durable than most of the fixings being used currently. They have also tested their fixings for use with PV systems in UK conditions as we have significantly smaller rafters than Germany.”
