Eversheds has appointed Andrew Fleetwood, a former Freshfields solicitor, as a Senior Associate in its Real Estate Practice. Fleetwood will focus on renewable energy and will work closely with the company’s Clean Energy Team.

Fleetwood has extensive expertise providing guidance to clients in the UK and internationally, working as an advisor in the clean energy sector for a number of years. He will continue to work on a range of renewable energy projects including some current solar projects in Cornwall, including the largest site to receive planning permission so far, and on windfarm projects in Scotland.

Andrew will be based in Eversheds’ Edinburgh office, working on the increasing number of existing clean energy clients requiring advice on Scottish law as well as helping to expand the office's client base.

“I am extremely pleased to be joining Eversheds. The firm's Clean Energy practice has an impressive range of UK based and international clients and I look forward to working with the team as it expands and diversifies its Scottish client base,” said Fleetwood.

Michelle Thomas, Head of the Clean Energy Group, added, “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the team. As the clean energy sector continues to grow with particular focus on Scotland, Andrew brings with him a great deal of expertise which will help us in providing an expert real estate solution for a number of our clients. Scotland is a key market for us and Andrew's appointment builds on our strategy in spearheading our growth in the Scottish market.”
