British Solar Renewables, one of the UK's largest holders of operational solar farms, is in the process of selling off assets amidst a period of change at the company.
Solar Power Portal can reveal that BSR is negotiating the sale of a portfolio of its operational assets to Cubico Sustainable Investments.
While BSR has offered no indication as to the size of the portfolio Cubico looks set to acquire, it could include some of the UK's largest assets built to date.
Cubico bills itself as one of the world's largest asset holders of renewable energy projects, and counts among its investors international bank Santander and PSP Investments, one of Canada's largest pension funds with approximately C$112 billion worth of assets under management.
A spokeswoman for BSR confirmed that the sale was underway.
“BSR has built a large number of assets in recent years, a number of which have been sold to asset owners such as TRIG and Ingenious.
“We continue to review our portfolio and are currently selling certain assets to Cubico,” she said.
The spokeswoman also confirmed that BSR would retain a pipeline of projects it intends to complete in the UK, maintaining the developer's interest in the UK solar market.
