Following the recent launch of its new Solar Intelligence division, Solar Media has acted swiftly to expand its in-house resources, by hiring Finlay Colville as the new Head of Solar Intelligence.

Widely regarded as one of the leading market analysts covering the solar industry, Finlay Colville has more than a decade of experience in the sector and until October 2014 was Head of NPD Solarbuzz. He has accumulated a broad range of expertise within the industry, both globally and spanning the entire value-chain from upstream manufacturing to downstream site deployment.

“The addition of Finlay Colville to our newly formed Solar Intelligence division is a fantastic boost to our existing in-house resources,” said Tim Mann, managing director, Solar Media. “His market knowledge and research credentials are a perfect match to the core competences at Solar Media, and will significantly enhance the quality and scope of the Solar Intelligence team.”

Finlay Colville: “Solar Media has a wealth of proprietary in-house data and market activity through its long-standing relationships with key industry stakeholders worldwide. Coupled with its access to virtually every press communication issued within the industry, Solar Media’s extensive bank of market data, surveys and events-based intelligence gathering, provides the ideal foundation for solar market research activities.”

Solar Media also announces that Dr Colville will be speaking at this afternoon’s Doing Solar Business in the UK conference in Munich, Germany.

Prior to his five year stint with NPD Solarbuzz, Colville held a range of senior sales and marketing positions at Coherent Inc. over a 10-year period, specialising in various high-tech segments including microelectronics, solar, bioinstrumentation and ultrafast spectroscopy. He holds a BSc in Physics, and a PhD in nonlinear photonics from the University of St. Andrews.

The UK Large-Scale Ground-Mount report will be the first available from Solar Intelligence.
