Solar investment vehicle Foresight Solar Fund has continued on its recent acquisition spree by signing a binding contract to acquire a 30MW solar farm in Nottinghamshire.
The solar farm, which has not been named by the company, is expected to qualify for the 1.3 ROC banding under the year-long grace period which is ongoing.
The asset will take Foresight’s portfolio capacity to 263MW once operational and follows a string of other recent acquisitions as Foresight continues to negotiate on further purchases which fall under an exclusive pipeline of projects.
Foresight has taken advantage of the UK’s burgeoning secondary solar market and earlier this month Ricardo Pineiro, fund manager at Foresight, told Solar Power Portal the company would also look to take advantage of any solar successes in future CfD allocation rounds.
Last month Foresight announced it was seeking to raise additional capital through an additional placement of shares under the placing programme it started last September.
