Gatehouse Energy, Styles&Wood Group PLC’s carbon abatement and clean energy division, has announced that it will be partnering with Consensus Capital Private Equity to provide renewable energy technology free of charge.
Commenting on the partnership, Adrian Sutton, Director at Gatehouse Energy said: “We’ve been working for some time now, looking at ways in which we could make clean energy more accessible. We have looked at the entire proposition, from start to finish, including the barriers to renewable technology and how we can remove them. We are delighted to be working with Consensus as our relationship affords us the perfect opportunity to remove those barriers and deliver sustainable energy solutions to the marketplace.”
Tenants living in Riverside Housing’s accommodation are set to be the first to benefit from the partnership with work already under way to install solar PV on approximately 6,000 homes across the North of England.
Riverside Housing hopes that the solar PV arrays will help lift some of the most deprived communities out of fuel poverty while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions. The 6,000 solar arrays are expected to reduce more than 10,000 tonnes of CO2.
