German solar developer Goldbeck Solar has completed three ground-mounted solar projects in the UK totalling 19.4MW of new capacity.

Despite the worst weather in 50 years, the company managed to install and connect an 8.3MW plant in Somerset, a 4.6Mw project in Wales and a 6.5MW project in Devon.

Goldbeck partnered with Hazel Capital, a London-based investment company with a focus on renewable energy, in the organisation, financing and implementation of the projects. All three sites utilise de-centralised inverters and were connected to grid before subsidy levels fell in April.

CEO Joachim Goldbeck, explained why the UK market will remain interesting to the company, stating: “UK will stay a highly interesting market for us – next to our main markets in Germany and Italy. We will keep growing – also our personnel, which we are very happy about – in times where other companies in the solar industry are more likely contracting.”
