Situated in the heart of the Doncaster countryside, Redhouse Park houses 60 homes offering holiday rents and permanent accommodation for retired and semi-retired people aged 50 and over.

Continuing the owners’ tradition of investing in infrastructure to keep facilities up to date, they investigated the possibility of installing solar PV panels to help residents reduce their energy bills and lower their environmental impact.

REA installer of the year Evoenergy, identified a section of the field adjacent to the park as a perfect location for a 50kWp ground-mounted system.

The system was installed in just ten working days and is expected to generate 42,903 kWh a year. During the long summer daytimes, it will supply the bulk of the energy needed by the whole park, moving the residents closer to their long-term sustainability goals. It will also reduce CO2 emissions by over 22 tonnes a year – a big selling point for a community that prides itself on its lush green spaces and tranquil, rural environment.
