HBS New Energies is to install 37 of its complete in-roof solar systems at a new housing development in Weston-super-Mare.
The solar installer was chosen by Lovell Homes to design, supply and install the 110kWp of solar, with selected dwellings at the Foxglove Meadows development to feature all black in-roof solar panels with system sizes ranging from 2.4kWp-3.6kWp.
The scheme is to generate an estimated 99,897kWh per year, with work on-site to begin soon using HBS’ own direct labour force.
The site itself will have a total of 130 homes, with a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes available through Lovell Homes and a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes available through housing association Abri Group.
James Bull, managing director of HBS New Energies, said the new contract is “testament to our strong reputation”, adding that the company is looking forward to working in partnership with Lovell Homes to bring forward “more sustainable, affordable new homes”.
Last month, the company was awarded a separate contract for the installation of solar PV on new homes, this time by Wain Homes. As part of this deal, HBS is to install solar PV amounting to a total of just under 300kWp on 123 new low-carbon dwellings.
This follows the company launching its in-roof solar solution in February in partnership with JA Solar and GSE Integration.
