Sun & Alternative Technology Ltd (S.A.T.) has recently completed a 228kWp solar installation at Eastfield House, Huntingdonshire District Council’s CCTV control room, printing services, building control teams and the refuse and recycling fleet.
In order to complete the project, which involved the installation of more than 1,000 solar panels, S.A.T. partnered with Carter Electrical Installations Ltd. The project was completed in less than two weeks.
The 228kWp array is expected to generate 159,526kWh per year and will save ~150 tonnes of C02 per year.
A spokesperson for Huntingdonshire District Council said: “We are very delighted that the system was installed so quickly and uneventfully. Everybody cooperated very well and we were able to meet the deadline to get the optimum feed in tariff. We want this project to inspire others and show how effective and easy it is to install and use solar PV.”
Mihajlo Raljic, Managing Director of S.A.T., said: “We were impressed by how well the project was managed by Huntingdonshire District Council which allowed for the system to be installed smoothly and on time. The system enables Eastfield House to make substantial savings to its energy bill and shows good leadership in Huntingdonshire’s Low Carbon Agenda.”
