Ikaros Solar UK, which was set up earlier this year by entrepreneur Richard Tyzack, has achieved Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation.  The South Wales-based subsidiary in Technium Springboard in Cwmbran, Wales has been backed by the Welsh Assembly Government through a £500,000 grant from the Single Investment Fund (SIF) over the next three years.

Tyzack said the MCS accreditation will give the business and commercial sectors the opportunity to benefit from Ikaros’ solar photovoltaic systems and take advantage of the Government’s feed-in tariff scheme.

“Both the technology used and the installer must be MCS certificated to be eligible for FIT payments. As a result of this accreditation, Ikaros Solar UK can help businesses and commercial property owners benefit from the savings available by using solar power and get extra income from producing renewable energy,” explained Tyzack.
