jms Solar Handel, the Bavarian PV specialist, has expanded its European network of branch offices by opening of its first branch in Portishead, Bristol. The newly founded subsidiary jms UK Solar Trade Ltd. is initially planning to concentrate on the south-east part of the country and to gradually expand its distribution network.
The company chose Bristol as its UK-based office location due to its proximity to the port as well as the good transport connections to the capital of London. This, coupled with the climatic conditions in southern England, make setting up in Bristol a profitable investment.
“On the one hand, most domestic commercial enterprises do not dispose of the required logistic structures and fully developed purchasing channels. At the same time, there is a lack of experience [in the UK] in dealing with short-term changes that are typical in the solar sector,“ said Josef Mittermeier, Director and founder of jms Solar Handel. “On the other hand, the construction of solar systems is virgin territory for many installation and roofing companies, which significantly complicates the realisation of PV projects. We are aiming to bridge these gaps with experience and technical skills and to offer our new partners efficient solutions.”
“We are certain that our competitive edge will make a major contribution in furthering renewable energies in Great Britain. By doing so, we not only aim to create and sustainably secure qualified jobs on location but also in Germany,” concluded Handel.
