juwi Renewable Energies Limited has confirmed its commitment to the UK solar market by opening a new, larger office at Blythe Valley Park, near Birmingham.
juwi has invested in excess of £1 million in the UK solar industry in the last 18 months, and is now confirming its presence in this market by expanding its office space. In the UK juwi focuses solely on large and medium scale solar PV projects, which are now viable thanks to the Renewables Obligation.
Lars Falck, the global CEO of Germany-based juwi Solar said: “Today it is an honour and a great pleasure for me to welcome you, and together with you witness not only the inauguration of our small office. Indeed it is our extraordinary privilege to witness something much bigger going on. Now, renewable energy will not only be sustainable. It will also be cheaper than any other source of power. And it will be abundant.”
Jan Sisson, Managing Director for juwi Renewable Energies Limited, also utilised the opening as an opportunity to reveal the company’s latest development.
“We have recently signed a contract with KL Technologies to deliver a 1.33MW solar park for their textile and ceramics production facility in Kings Lynn, which will green the energy supply to the plant, as well as providing greater predictability for their energy costs into the future,” he explained.
juwi is steadily expanding its presence and has now moved to larger premises on the Blythe Valley Business Park and is planning to recruit additional staff including Project Managers and specialists in construction and electrical engineering.
“If the conditions remain that positive, we will create a large number of sustainable jobs in the UK. At the moment, we plan to hire approximately 20 people until the end of 2012,” Sisson concluded.
