Kingspan Environmental has appointed Simon Pattison to oversee its renewable energy training courses.
Pattison is a qualified electrician and plumber who has worked in the building industry for almost 20 years. His renewables experience was cultivated in Germany seven years ago where he trained as an installer.
Commenting on the importance of renewable training, Pattison said: “Sustainable energy systems are an important area for the building services industry. Understanding how to provide these systems and applications is seen as key in meeting the future needs of both commercial and domestic heating.
“Demand for the training courses is rising, both for new installers and trained installers wanting to refresh their product knowledge. My advice to anyone wanting to move into renewable energy installation is to get qualified now. The renewable energy sector is growing and will offer even more commercial opportunities following the introduction of the domestic RHI next year.”
Kingspan’s renewable energy training is approved by Logic Certification and offers graduates the option of becoming MCS-accredited. The company offers a range of courses in both manufacturer training and accredited certification training on unvented systems, solar thermal and heat pumps.
