Having operated in the renewable energy sector for over four years, KN Renewable Energy is well-versed in the installation of solar panels in the UK. The company, which specialises in the design, supply, installation and commissioning of all sizes of solar photovoltaic systems, has recently completed a social housing project in Croydon.

The residential solar development, located in New Addington, spans over 13 separate plots, which are part of a new social housing scheme. KN Renewable Energy was instructed to design, install and commission a total of seven 2.59kWp systems for one road and six 3.70kWp systems for an adjacent road.  This amounts to a total generation of 40.33kWp over the 13 plots.

A K2 aluminium framing system was used to mount the 218 UP Solar 185Wp panels, while seven Mastervolt Sunmaster XS3200 inverters and six Mastervolt Sunmaster XS4300 inverters were utilized to convert the electricity from DC to AC. The panels are mounted on pitched roofs, and are estimated to generate at least 33,617 kWh per annum.

In total the project took three weeks.
