Lightsource Renewable Energy, Europe’s leading solar energy company, affirms its appetite for development on large-scale ground-mount projects by announcing an offering of up to £40k per MW for introduced sites.
Lightsource encourages anyone with potential solar sites that have positive grid information and good planning potential to be in touch as soon as possible.
Conor McGuigan, Business Development Director, said: “With the potential of another ROC drop and future political uncertainly, the time to act is now. Our track record speaks for itself and our dedicated team of over 350 in-house staff will benefit introducers with expertise and support in developing their pipeline and seeing it through to fruition. This year for 1.4 ROC sites, we submitted 44 planning applications of which over 83% were approved.”
Operating the largest portfolio of solar PV projects in Europe at just over 1GW, Lightsource has deployed over £1.6 billion of UK investment into solar projects in just 4 years and reveals ambitions to grow this portfolio significantly over the next year. The key driver behind Lightsource’s success has been secured funding and the ability to be fleet-of-foot in closing deals, successfully taking introduced sites through the planning process.
Andrew Wilkinson, introducer for Lightsource, comments: “The Lightsource record is second to none. They have the resources and experience to deliver, whatever the size of the project. When I speak to landowners I often say – particularly in this market – it Lightsource can’t build it then it’s highly unlikely anyone else can.”
Conor concludes: “In making this announcement, of up to £40k per MW for introduced sites, we are affirming our commitment towards introducers and recognising the important role they have to play in our industry. We assign a dedicated account manager to each of our introducers to ensure consistency and introducers are able to take advantage of our internal expertise.”
