Houses in Bloor Homes’ Littecombe housing development are now generating their own clean electricity thanks to the installation of Redland solar PV tiles. The housing development turned to Redland to help the development meet the required level of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
The houses were fitted with over 219 solar PV tiles totalling 18.1kWp of capacity. The Littecombe housing development consists of a mixture of social and privately owned homes, all of which will be able to benefit from the unlimited use of electricity generated by their roofs.
Rob Brown, Director of installation company Brown Roofing, said: “Redland products were chosen for their quality and the almost seamless integration possible between Solar PV Tiles and traditional roof tiles. This means the aesthetic appearance of the finished homes is superior to the majority of roofs with PV systems being installed today”.
Edward Meredith, Senior Surveyor, at Bloor Homes, added: “We chose to use Redland Solar PV Tiles as part of a whole Redland roof system because not only were they fully integrated, providing a great visual appearance, but also that Redland’s guarantee gives us peace of mind for the next 25 years”.
