Renewables investor Low Carbon has tasked security contractor Amba Defence with rolling out security systems across its solar portfolio.
In response to what it said was a “growing problem” of targeted solar panel thefts, Amba Defence has been commissioned to provide high-specification security systems across Low Carbon’s 165MW-strong UK portfolio.
Amba is already familiar with providing security for UK solar firms having previously worked alongside the likes of Hive Energy, Good Energy and Juwi.
Included within the works is perimeter detection, continuous remote security and CCTV monitoring, conducted from Amba’s receiving centre.
Amba said it was highly experienced in managing rural sites and familiar with the challenges they can present.
“Connecting solar farm sites to our remote control room is will provide Low Carbon with actionable intelligence and enables rapid and proper responses to threats,” Shires Crichton, chief executive at Amba Defence, added.
