Durham-based solar panel manufacturer, Romag, has joined forces with Suffolk-based renewable energy company, Mosscliff Environmental Ltd, in order to offer a unique, British manufactured solar array to the renewables sector.
The two companies have agreed to conjoin their manufacturing abilities to offer, for the first time, UK manufactured goods and engineering expertise to the domestic market. The two companies have already begun installing ground mounted solar arrays across East Anglia and the rest of the UK.
Mosscliff Environmental manufactures its ground mount systems at an old wartime airfield in Horham near Eye whilst Romag manufactures solar panels at its Durham-based warehouse.
Commenting on the partnership, Director of Mosscliff Environmental Ltd, David Wyllie, said: We’ve worked with many suppliers during our eight years in the renewable energy business in the UK, and we have been very impressed with the level of manufacturing and engineering quality achieved by Romag – even surpassing premium German goods in an exceptionally competitive market place.”
More importantly, Wyllie reiterated his desire to boost UK jobs, saying: “We’re confident that this partnership will create and sustain as many as 20 skilled manufacturing and engineering jobs in the region, whilst also contributing to significantly more UK manufacturing jobs through Romag’s factories in Durham.”
