Portuguese solar developer, Martifer Solar, has announced that it has successfully connected 78.4MW of new solar capacity to the grid before the 31 March 1.6ROC deadline.
The 78.4MWp portfolio consists of five solar farms constructed for Lightsource Renewable Energy. Martifer Solar reports that the projects were completed in nine weeks, equating to 2MW installed per day.
“With the successful completion of this 78.4MW portfolio, Martifer Solar strongly expresses its reliability and capability to overcome assumed project challenges,” said João Cunha, Martifer Solar’s country manager in the United Kingdom. “Moreover, the implementation of almost 110MW in one year represents an important milestone for the company as we transition froma strong EPC playerto a lead Developer of projects in the UK.”
The developer has sold 37MW of developed solar farms to date, recently winning planning permission for an 11MW site that will be developer under 1.4ROCs.
Martifer Solar is also predicting a strong portfolio of new UK projects to be developed under 1.4ROCs and 1.3ROCs, which the developer estimates could reach 100MW.
