BayWa r.e. has appointed Morgan Harris as managing director of its UK operation services business.
Harris has an extensive career in the energy sector, with eight years’ experience in the services industry.
She joined BayWa r.e. initially in 2019 as a commercial manager within its UK operation services arm, and has since moved through the ranks to become head of asset management and then head of commercial.
“We’re delighted to have Morgan heading up the team as we continue strengthening and growing our operations in the UK,” said Max Methe, director of Services EMEA.
“Without a doubt, Morgan brings impressive knowledge about the market and will be leading our strategy on expanding our operations and maintaining new and existing customers.”
The appointment follows BayWa r.e. winning eight contracts in the UK’s most recent Contracts for Difference auction, with a total of over 330MW of capacity across onshore wind and solar winning support.
“I’m thrilled to be embarking on this next chapter of my BayWa r.e. journey, especially during this pinnacle time for renewables,” said Harris.
“At BayWa r.e., we’re proud to be paving the way for a more sustainable way of life and we’re focusing on expanding the company’s growth path to ensure we can build a greener future for our customers and the world around us.”
BayWa r.e. has developed 142 utility-scale solar projects worldwide, with a total capacity of around 2000MW. This includes 31 solar projects in the UK, totalling approximately 536MW.
It is one of the first companies looking at the development of a megasolar project, launching the consultation for its 160MW Oaklands Farm Solar Park, South Derbyshire in April.
