London-based solar developer Eco Energy World has revealed that it has sold a portfolio of four UK solar projects totalling 56MW of capacity.
The four solar farms are currently under construction in Swindon, Wiltshire, Devon and the Essex/Suffolk border. All four solar farms are expected to be operational by the end of March 2014 in order to access support at 1.6ROCs before it drops to 1.4ROCs in April 2014.
Commenting on the sale of the portfolio, Svante Kumlin, chairman of Eco Energy World said: “This sale reinforces our position in the UK and European renewable energy industry and provides us with the perfect platform to continue to expand our solar PV operations in 2014 and beyond.”
The company has aspirations to develop more than 200MW of solar PV developments across Europe, with 80MW worth of capacity set to be developed in the UK this year.
Kumlin added: “To date, we have developed several hundred MW of solar projects across Europe. We currently have 15 projects across the UK which are at various stages of the planning process. We are committed to making a significant contribution towards helping the UK meet its renewable energy targets and reduce our reliance on rapidly-diminishing fossil fuels.”
