Eden Sustainable and AMP Clean Energy launch multi-million-pound post-subsidy solar fund

Eden Sustainable and AMP Clean Energy have partnered on a new, multi-million-pound post-subsidy solar fund.

The duo are to develop and finance a number of post-subsidy solar projects and have already amassed a pipeline of around 30MW, around half of which is pegged as being at an advanced stage.

The pipeline is representative of investment totalling around £10 million and includes projects on behalf of SMEs, academies, industrial and provident societies and listed companies.

The first tranche of projects to be included in the partnership are a 190kW array which is to supply power for an unnamed fast-moving consumer goods firm, a 200kW project across a multiple-academy trust and the acquisition of a portfolio of existing installs with a combined capacity of 240kW.

Scott Burrows, managing director at Eden Sustainable, said the firms are now on the lookout for PPA opportunities throughout the UK.

“We’re delighted that AMP Clean Energy has become our strategic funding partner and are looking forward to supercharging solar PPA deals in the new post-subsidy world,” he said.

Richard Burrell, chief executive at AMP Clean Energy, said his company was excited to be “entering the post-subsidy solar industry”.

“As a developer and investor of low carbon projects, expanding into the solar market is a natural progression which provides a wider breadth to our renewables portfolio,” Burrell added.
