There have been fresh job losses at various companies within the solar industry supply chain this week, including those at commercial installer Your Power and inverter supplier Schneider Electric.
Your Power, the renewables-focused division of Your Group, collapsed at the end of last month and filed insolvency documents last week. A statement issued to Solar Power Portal confirmed that while the group had managed to save some jobs by diverting people to other divisions with the company, Your Power’s collapse had resulted in the loss of a “handful” of jobs from the sector. The company said it was “bitterly disappointed” by the situation.
SPP meanwhile understands that a small number of jobs have been lost within Schneider Electric, namely those tasked with sales of its inverter products for large-scale facilities. Schneider refused to confirm or comment on the news.
Services provider Cobalt Energy is however recruiting for a senior project engineer in its thermal renewables department, either based directly from its office in Buxton or a home-based role with travel expected.

Elsewhere Blue Tree Asset Management has appointed Lightsource Renewable Energy alumni Esther Garcia as its new head of asset management in the UK.
Garcia is to lead the group’s UK growth strategy as it looks to bolster its current portfolio of 270MW of wind and solar PV projects. She was previously a senior asset manager at Lightsource, and before that an EPC technical manager at Isolux Corsan.
And lastly energy management firm amber energy has appointed Frank Rabusic as its new head of trading and risk management, joining the Cardiff-based firm to lead its energy trading desk and develop its risk management portfolio. Rabusic brings more than 15 years of experience in the energy industry to the table, having previously worked at Accenture, Centrica and Enron.
