eEnergy has won its first contract to provide 321kWp of solar together with LED lighting in a single contract.

The company – which describes itself as an energy effiency-as-a-service business in the UK and Ireland – has signed the contract with British Gaskets, a UK-based international manufacturer and supplier of gaskets, seals, plastic and rubber mouldings and materials. The contract is for an initial, single site, with a contract value of approximately £0.4 million.

With a 20 year lifetime, the system is expected to save British Gaskets almost £1.4 million, based on today’s prices.

“Our offer is being well received by the market and this blueprint for material energy and cost savings, coupled with significant decarbonisation is compelling for customers and the environment,” said Harvey Sinclair, eEnergy CEO.

Other UK C&I solar projects to have been announced recently include the installation of 429 solar panels by Lincolnshire-based installer UK Alternative Energy for construction firm Lindum, also based in the county, and drinks company Diageo, which has applied for planning permission for a new on-site solar farm.

Meanwhile, earlier this week Ortus Energy signed a deal with Toronto-based investment firm Fiera Infrastructure that will see £100 million invested into new C&I rooftop solar developments in the UK.
