Viridian Solar has sealed a new group deal with Welsh housebuilder Beech Developments.

The housebuilder will now exclusively use Viridian’s Clearline fusion roof-integrated solar panels for its homes, building around 120 a year in locations across the North of Wales. It builds eco-features into its houses as standard, including heat recovery ventilation systems, solar PV panels and sustainable drainage systems as well as planting for biodiversity.

Beech Developments procurement director, Steve Daniels, said that the company understands the benefits of “offering our customers homes with low energy bills and a light footprint on the planet” and has been “very happy” with Clearline fusion panels already installed at the Dwygyfylchi, Llys Marl and High Pastures developments.

Homebuilders Viridian has previously announced contracts with Newland Homes, Bloor HomesStewart Milne HomesBellway and Persimmon Homes and McTaggart Group.

Jamie Berryman, CSO at Viridian Solar said: “It's great to be working with a forward-thinking company like Beech Developments. Building Regulations and planning conditions in Wales are currently at a level that rarely requires solar panels, but Beech treats these as a floor rather than a ceiling on its ambition.”

In July, Viridian unveiled a collaboration with roofing manufacturer Marley, to offer the Marley SolarTile, a roof-integrated solar system be based on the Clearline fusion products.

Last year, it announced its plans to launch into the US and Latin American markets after penning an exclusive licensing arrangement with North American PV mounting provider Unirac as well as securing a partnership with heating and plumbing firm Heat Merchants to bring Clearline Fusion to Northern Ireland.
