Viridian Solar has penned two new group deals for its roof integrated solar solution, strengthening its position in the new build housing market.

Housebuilders Persimmon Homes and McTaggart Group will use Viridian’s Clearline fusion roof integrated solar on all new homes with a requirement for solar PV.

Persimmon Homes first signed a contract with the UK solar manufacturer in 2017, and that deal has now been extended through to 2021. Since the original agreement over 4,000 homes have come forward, requiring 6MWp of solar.

Jamie Berryman, sales director of Viridian Solar, said the deals gave the company a boost.

“It's a real vote of confidence in Viridian Solar that these two great companies have chosen Clearline fusion for their solar roofing work. Clearline fusion's high quality and value clearly ticks all the boxes for both social rented properties and private sale.”

Paul Roan, commercial director at McTaggart Group, said they were impressed with the simple installation and “excellent” aesthetics.

“Roof integrated solar gives our clients better looking homes with simple future roofing maintenance and avoids problems from nesting birds,” he added.
