BuildIT has announced the launch of PVSense – a unique cloud-based lifecycle management solution for solar PV installations of any size from small rooftops, up to utility scale plants, focusing on asset performance, reduced operating and maintenance costs and capital efficiency.
Utility Scale Photovoltaic Plants are assembled from disparate subsystems, each sourced from a different vendor. As these subsystems are not designed to work together, the overall plant operation and performance are far from optimal. PVSense works as a vendor / datalogger independent solution providing an integrated environment for collecting measurements in real time with high accuracy over entire PV portfolios, analysing time series, creating custom events and generating tasks.
PVSense unique features gives PV asset owners and operators unlimited capabilities to measure, monitor, analyse, manage, predict and improve the performance of their assets from the string up to the entire PV portfolio.
PVSense is also able to communicate with the plant in a two- way mode supporting resolutions up to one second which gives to the operators the necessary visibility and control down to the component level such as the weather stations, the surveillance system, the string combiners, the inverters, the low and medium voltage switchgears and the transformers. The operators can use these features as a smart grid infrastructure to make operating adjustments for the plant under special demand response programs with the Utilities in the near future.
BuildIT will be showcasing PVSense at this year’s Solar Power UK 2012 in booth P47. Solar Power UK is being hosted at the NEC in Birmingham and runs from October 2-4.
