A record number of visitors were expected to visit Solar Energy UK | Clean Energy Live 2016 as the industry exhibition opens its doors on Tuesday.
Pre-registered visitors are up by more than 10% year-on-year, with thousands due to descend upon Birmingham for the annual event, which runs until 6 October this week.
The event will also see the largest gathering of storage exhibitors ever assembled in the UK, with more than 40 storage-related companies demonstrating their products on the show floor throughout the course of the exhibition.
David Owen, founder and director at SEUK’s organiser Solar Media, said: “It is tremendous to see the year on year growth of Solar Energy UK since we started in 2010 and its increasing importance in the UK’s Clean Energy sector. I am particularly excited to see key new technologies from the energy storage segment which has grown substantially this year making SEUK 16 the largest exhibit of energy storage technologies that the UK has ever seen.”
An industry-leading content programme has been put together, designed specifically to educate and inform the clean energy supply chain throughout the week, while Wednesday evening will see hundreds of the industry’s best and brightest assemble for the annual Solar Power Portal and Clean Energy Awards. Fourteen awards will be handed out at the event, hosted by stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr.
