Merlin Hyman, chief executive of Regen, has been recognised on the Queen’s birthday honours list for his services to the industry.
Hyman has been awarded on OBE for his contribution to sustainable energy, in particular his work in supporting the growth and development of renewable and decentralised energy since he took over the helm at Regen in 2009.
Hyman is the latest in the renewables industry to receive honours, with those to received honours last year including solar stalwart Ray Noble, who was named a Member of the British Empire, ex-Dong Energy chairman Brent Cheshire and Zero Carbon Futures’ Colin Herron, who were both awarded CBEs.
Also receiving honours last year was Alan Creighton, senior smart grid development engineer at Northern Powergrid, who was awarded an MBE and Sonya Bedford, head of renewable energy at law firm Stephens Scown, who also received an MBE.
