Rexel has announced the acquisition of 59 branches of Wilts Wholesale Electrical. The Trowbridge-based electrical wholesaler is one of the largest independent distributors of electrical supplies operating in England and Wales.
Rexel believes that the acquisition will complement its position in the UK and will remain consistent with Rexel’s strategic aim of strengthening its market share in key mature markets, such as the UK.
Rexel hopes to consolidate the acquisition from the beginning of March 2012. The French electrical giant estimates that the acquisition will generate sales of almost £50 million per year.
