Rolec EV, a leading UK manufacturer of EV chargepoints, and The Solar Advisory Service, a solar panel engineering and installation company, have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of green energy solutions across the UK. The collaboration will combine Rolec’s expertise in EV charging infrastructure with The Solar Advisory Service’s knowledge of solar energy systems, offering consumer and business customers a one-stop shop for their renewable energy needs.

This partnership comes at a crucial time for the UK renewable energy sector. The government has set ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions, and both solar energy and EV adoption are key components of achieving those goals. The energy price fluctuations of the past few years have also highlighted the need for greater energy independence and a shift towards more sustainable sources of power, so combining expertise to offer end-to-end solutions makes more sense now than ever

In line with these trends, the UK has witnessed significant growth in the solar PV market, with installations reaching record levels in recent years, tripling in 2023, and on course to make records again in 2024. Similarly, the demand for EV charging infrastructure has soared as more consumers switch to electric vehicles. However, research from Believ suggests that local authorities in the UK are falling behind in their EV chargepoint targets.

By combining their expertise and resources, the two companies can offer a more comprehensive and integrated approach to green energy solutions. This will not only make it easier for customers to adopt renewable technologies but will also drive down costs through economies of scale.

Moreover, the partnership is likely to spur innovation in the sector, as both companies strive to develop new and improved products and services to meet the evolving needs of their customers. This includes the integration of solar PV systems with EV charging infrastructure, creating a more seamless and efficient energy ecosystem.

“Our partnership with Rolec is a testament to our shared vision of a more sustainable future,” said Jamie Lynch, Chief Operating Officer at The Solar Advisory Service. “Together, we are poised to revolutionise the way people power their homes, businesses, and vehicles, paving the way for a cleaner, greener tomorrow.

“As we embark on this journey together, we are confident that our partnership with Rolec will enable us to redefine the future of renewable energy and EV charging through collaboration, dedication, and a shared commitment.”

James Jarvis, Senior Business Development Manager at Rolec added: “We are full-heartedly enthusiastic about the combined opportunities we have set out ahead of us.

“I am eagerly anticipating working closely with The Solar Advisory Service team to provide EV charging solutions nationwide.”

The collaboration between Rolec and The Solar Advisory Service is indicative of a growing trend towards partnerships and collaborations in the renewable energy sector. Just as solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are becoming increasingly interlinked, solar PV and EV infrastructure will likely follow suit as the industry matures and recognises the value of working together to accelerate the transition to low-carbon energy solutions.
