Major UK PV distributor SegenSolar is to take its services into European markets after establishing a German subsidiary, SegenSolar GmbH.
The supplier officially launched the company at the start of this month and has appointed Michael Schäfer, who also sits on the board of the German Solar Industry Association, as its managing director.
SegenSolar GmbH will operate out of Cologne and currently has a headcount of 15. The company is to distribute products from manufacturers including LG, SolarWorld, JA Solar, Jinko, SMA, Fronius and SolarEdge.
While the company will predominantly focus on distributing PV components throughout Germany and neighbouring European countries, it will also service off-grid and hybrid projects as well as solar projects in Africa.
Segen was founded in 2005 and claims to hold a 25% share of the distribution market in the UK, making it one of the country’s market leaders.
