Switchgear manufacturer, Kraus & Naimer, will be showcasing its new switch, the KGD40, at Solar Energy UK (SEUK).
The company says the switch has been specifically designed and tested for DC supply generated by PV modules for applications up to 50Amps. The 1000 volt-rated KGD40 uses permanent magnets in the body that reduces arcing time, according to the company. Kraus & Naimer states that this means that the time to extinguish the arc is down to milliseconds.
Kraus & Naimer is offering the KGD40 range in a number of mounting forms designed specifically for solar applications.
