Thin-film solar company Solar Frontier has received Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation for its SF130-150 series CIS modules. Delivered by BRE Global the MCS certification, combined with IEC 61646, IEC 61739 and UL 1703 certification, allows for Solar Frontier’s modules to be carried throughout the UK.
“Solar Frontier’s rapid global expansion has reached another important milestone with MCS certification,” said Wolfgang Lange, managing director of Solar Frontier Europe. “Our CIS modules are ideal for the UK residential market as they deliver high performance even in the misty conditions of the British Isles. Solar Frontier is now selecting distributors in the UK as we bring our compelling economical and ecological CIS modules to market.”
The 150W rated output modules are manufactured at the company’s Kunitomi Plant in Miyazaki, Japan. A stipulation of MCS’s testing criteria is to additionally evaluate module production facilities to confirm not only the modules quality, but also the quality of the environment where they are produced.
