Solar Guide, the free online resource for homeowners and engineers, has launched a new version of its solar photovoltaic (PV) feed-in tariff calculator, which can now be embedded on other solar websites.
The calculator allows potential customers wishing to install solar PV panels on their buildings to calculate what size a solar panel system they need, how much it will cost and how much money they could be paid back from the Government's FiT.
While calculating the payback amount, the calculator also shows how long it will take to recoup the initial cost of installation, as well as outlining the different types of technology available to the customer.
David Holmes, Founder of Solar Guide said, “The Solar Guide calculator is the most comprehensive tool of its kind available. Not only does it calculate solar radiation in various locations, it gives accurate figures which take into account return-on-investment, the expected AER (annual equivalent rate) as well as factoring in the feed-in tariff. What's more our calculator will give you a realistic insight into the losses from voltage and the seasonal variation you can expect.”
