The owner of a solar PV installation company has been fined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) after two workers fell through a fragile roof.
Workers were installing a solar PV system on an agricultural building with a fragile roof, however, the roof had not been identified as a risk. Two workers fell 15ft through the roof, with one suffering a compression fracture of his back and sternum.
The work was being undertaken on behalf of Andrew Green, of Green Park Power. Green pleaded guilty to a breach of the Health and Safety at Work act and was fined £4,500 and ordered to pay costs of £1,500.
