Sussex-based solar service company Sunhive has partnered with Cleaner Air Solutions and the Renewable Energy Academy to launch an online solar training platform. At present, the website provides free access to all of the available courses. In future, some of the courses will involve a charge, which the companies say they are able to keep low as the courses are exclusively online.

“The courses provide an excellent foundation for hands-on training or work experience. We will continue to improve it with our partner to meet the highest standards,” said Terry Skee, who heads the Renewable Energy Academy, the training arm of Cleaner Air Solutions.

“The UK needs to generate more green jobs and we will do our bit to make sure that we provide the support needed to make high quality training cost-effective and accessible,” said Gbenga Kogbe, Director at Sunhive.

Courses available include solar energy introduction, solar site surveying, solar power installation and a guide to solar batteries. The course content is provided by Sharp Solar, Mitsubishi Electric and the Energy Savings Trust.

Through the website the companies aim to improve access to the solar industry, for job seekers and entrepreneurs, by providing cost-effective learning tools that are essential to the development of the UK solar industry.
